Rebates & tax credits — FAQs
How much can I get back on insulation in Oregon?
Energy Trust of Oregon currently offers roughly $1.25–$1.50/sq ft for attic insulation, $1.50–$2.25/sq ft for walls, and $0.75–$1.25/sq ft for floors, for eligible utility customers. Amounts are set by Energy Trust and may change.
Is the federal insulation tax credit still available?
No. The federal Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (25C), worth 30% up to $1,200/year, expired December 31, 2025. Work done in 2026 does not qualify. The Energy Trust cash incentives above are still available.
Who qualifies for Energy Trust incentives?
Oregon customers who heat with electricity or gas from PGE, Pacific Power, NW Natural or Cascade Natural Gas, meeting program requirements (e.g., existing insulation R-18 or less, insulated up to R-38+).
What is Savings Within Reach?
An income-qualified Energy Trust program with higher incentive amounts, paid directly to your contractor to lower your out-of-pocket cost.
